In preparation for the coming school year, the faculty of Ave Maria Academy will begin St. Louis De Montfort’s 33 day preparation for a Total Consecration to Jesus through Mary to conclude on August 15th, the Solemnity of the Assumption and the first day of school. De Montfort’s consecration rests upon the idea that just as God willed the Son to become flesh and come into the world to save us through the blessed Virgin Mary, so too does God will that we come to Christ spiritually through Mary. Thus, Total Consecration is a dedication of one’s life to Jesus by way of His mother Mary, the perfect loving mother, role model, and guide to her Son. If you have already done the consecration, know that it can be completed more than once in one’s life, even renewed annually. Traditionally, the Total Consecration takes place on a significant holy day honoring Our Lady. Beginning preparation today, July 13th, our consecration will take place on August 15th, the Assumption. It is providential to begin our year consecrating the faculty in a special way to Ave Maria Academy’s patron saint, Our Most Holy Mother, Mary.
Mr. Verlander invites all families, parents, and children to prayerfully consider joining the teachers on this consecration. During the activities of the first day of school, an opportunity for the Total Consecration will be worked into the schedule. But please note, there is a 33 day preparation that begins today, July 13th. To learn more about the Total Consecration and to see the day by day prayers, please see the following links.
