Mr. Verlander and Mr. Carlson depart on Monday for Aston, PA and Neumann University to attend the 2016 Catholic Classical Schools Conference put on by the Institute of Catholic Liberal Education. This year’s theme is “The Sacramental Imagination”. Speakers will include Laura Berquist, author and foundress of the Mother of Divine Grace program, Dale Ahlquist, President of the American G.K. Chesterton Society and Co-Founder of Chesterton Academy, and Mark Salisbury, Superintendent of the Diocese of Marquette in MI, where the entire diocese has turned classical in their Catholic schools. Mr. Verlander too has the honor of speaking for a break-out session on “Teaching Moral Theology with Dante’s Divine Comedy” and leading a seminar discussion on a selection from C.S. Lewis’ Prince Caspian. The conference offers an edifying experience in faith and educational pursuits, with daily Mass and prayer grounding and enlightening the various conference activities. Mr. Verlander returns to this conference for the fourth year in a row and looks forward to taking in the good ideas and practical wisdom it gives in a setting of Catholic, Classical culture.
