The Good, The True, The Beautiful

Curriculum

The curriculum at Ave Maria Academy is faithful to the Magisterium of the Catholic Church and reflects an approach where all subjects interrelate and faith pervades all areas of learning. A student of classical education encounters an integrated manner of study; that is to say, each subject is naturally connected to the others. An emphasis on Grammar, Logic, and Rhetoric cultivate habits of reading, writing, and speaking well. Memorization of Holy Scripture, poetry, and old songs conform the soul to the Good, the True, and the Beautiful. Studies in both Mathematics and the Natural Sciences connect the created world to the Divine Creator and arouse a sense of wonder by putting sensible things in touch with the senses. Classical education creates an atmosphere of reason and experience wherein literature, natural science, art, astronomy, faith, music, the physical world – all these things necessarily interrelate in an ordered manner and lend to holistic learning and ultimate Truth.
